Hand Hygiene Day

The Istanbul Bölge Hospital (Sancaktepe) family has a message for you: Hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infections. Our hands touch many surfaces throughout the day and can easily carry germs. Therefore, washing our hands regularly and disinfecting them when necessary is essential for our health.
We visited 60. Yıl Secondary School and met with the students.

During the educational program attended by our Infection Control Nurse, Deputy Director of Nursing Services / Training Nurse, and Specialist Dietitian, we shared valuable information with students about hand hygiene, infection prevention, healthy nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits. We are pleased to contribute to the health awareness of children, who represent the future of public health, and we will continue working for healthier generations.

World Breastfeeding Week Event
7 August 2026
As part of World Breastfeeding Week on August 7, we set up an information stand at our hospital to inform visitors about the importance of breast milk, the benefits of breastfeeding for maternal and infant health, and proper breastfeeding practices. Breast milk plays a vital role in the healthy growth and development of babies, naturally providing the nutrients they need during the first months of life. During this special week, we aimed to raise awareness about breastfeeding and help families make informed decisions. At Istanbul Bölge Hospital Sancaktepe, we continue to contribute to public health through initiatives that support the health of mothers and babies.

Breast Cancer Awareness Event
17 October 2025
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we held an event led by our General Surgery Specialist, Dr. Hasan Şenerdem, where we discussed breast cancer prevention, the importance of early diagnosis, current treatment methods, and breast self-examination. We shared knowledge, raised awareness, and, most importantly, reminded everyone once again of the importance of early detection. You can also support awareness by joining our information stand events throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October 1–31.
Balkan Wrestling Championship Held in Romania
3–12 October 2025
Our Women’s and Men’s National Wrestling Teams, whom we are proud to support as a health sponsor, became Balkan champions at the Balkan Wrestling Championship held in Romania on October 3–12, winning one gold medal and two bronze medals.

At Istanbul Bölge Hospital (Sancaktepe), we are proud to be part of social responsibility initiatives that have helped young people in our region participate in sports, grow into healthy individuals, and build their futures with confidence since 2014. We consider supporting young people’s physical and social development and helping them achieve their dreams through the unifying power of sports an important part of our social responsibility. With this commitment, we were delighted to welcome the Women’s and Men’s National Wrestling Teams, whom we sponsor as a healthcare partner, to our hospital. We wish our national athletes every success as they represent our country at the U17 International Victory Tournament and the subsequent International Champions Tournament. Because the future of a healthy society is shaped by the value we place on young people.
